Our Academy Program is now FULL!
The Sachem Slammers Academy was created to help bridge the gap between Intramural Soccer and Travel Soccer. The Academy provides a professionally trained environment all year.
The Sachem Slammers Academy is a great head start program that was started as a way to bridge the gap between the Intramural and Travel programs. The Academy targets players at the pre travel age of U7 and U8 (travel begins at U9). The Academy is aimed at providing players exposure to professional formalized trainers throughout the year. The Academy has proved a popular option for those looking for a more structured environment as well as a great club developmental tool to prepare our future travel players and programs as they develop into the many opportunities the Slammers offer.
The Academy has three sessions, Fall, Winter and Spring. All three sessions practice twice a week. The Fall and Spring session include weekend games. The cost for each session is separate.
Ages
U8 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2016. Limited to 24 players.
U7 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2017. Limited to 16 players.
Training Days
Fall and Spring Session – Both Boys and Girls train twice a week at Sachem Soccer Park, 1111 Waverly Avenue, Holtsville, NY.
Winter Session – Training day and times are based on available indoor and gym space.
Games
U8 (Born 2016) Fall Session – Games are on Sundays both home at Sachem Soccer Park and away in the local Suffolk area. The Fall Session plays in the LIJSL Club to Club Player Development Initiative. The format is 4 v 4 with no goalie.
U8 (Born 2016) Spring Session – Games are on Saturdays both home at Sachem Soccer Park and away in the local Suffolk area. The Spring Session plays up in the LIJSL U9 League. The format is 7 v 7.
U7 (Born 2017) Fall and Spring Session – Games are on Sundays at Sachem Soccer Park. Both Sessions will play in the Sachem Intramural Program. The format is 5 v 5 with a goalie.
Winter Session – No games.
Uniforms
Sachem Academy uses the Intramural uniforms. The uniform consists of White and Gold jersey, black shorts, and black socks. Additional items are optional.

Tryouts
Tryouts occur the first week of June. There is no cost for tryouts. ALL players must register for tryouts so we can follow training protocols and properly staff tryouts. Returning Academy players must register for tryouts as well. Tryouts are to inform the parents of the purpose and progression of the program.
Registration
Registration starts for the Fall and Spring on June 10 and closes August 15 (Unless the Program is filled). Registration for the Winter Session begins November 1 and closes December 31. Registration for the Spring Session, if there are openings, begins February 1 and closes March 1.
Cost
Fall and Spring Session – $650 before June 30
Fall and Spring Session – $700 after June 30 and before August 15
Winter Session – $300 (Limited to 16 Boys and 16 Girls)
Spring Session Only – $400
Late Registrations will need to contact the Academy Trustee on availability of roster openings.
