The Sachem Travel Program is the next step for U9 and older players in soccer. Travel offers technical skills and tactical knowledge for all players to grow and play at any level.

PROGRAMS
U8 is the last year a child plays in Sachem’s Intramural or Academy Soccer Program. In the Spring of the U8 year, families will make a decision on what path your child will take in the Fall. We have two programs: Competitive Travel and Recreational Travel.
Competitive Travel is for families that are looking for a year round training program, a higher level of competition, and more playing opportunities. Competitive Travel practices and games are run by professional trainers. Competitive Travel starts in August, through the Winter, and ends in June. It includes two practices a week, games in the Fall and Spring, Goalie Training, participation in the LI Classic in August, Columbus Day Tournament in October, Indoor Tournament in the Winter, Long Island Cup in the Spring, and Memorial Day Tournament in May.
Recreational Travel is for families that are looking for a more casual program similar to Intramurals. Recreational practices and games are run by parent volunteers. Recreational Travel starts from September to November and starts again from late March to June. Recreational Travel only includes practices dependent on the volunteer parent coach, games in the Fall and Spring, and a professional trainer will also run one practice the week before a game. (Currently, this is only available for our 2015 U9 players. Older players will be in Interleague.)
AGES
U9 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2015.
U10 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2014.
U11 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2013.
U12 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2012.
U13 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2011.
U14 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2010.
U15 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2009.
U16 Age Group – Girls and Boys born in 2008.
TRAINING DAYS
Practices are held at Sachem Soccer Park, 1111 Waverly Avenue, Holtsville, NY.
GAMES
Games are on Saturdays for U9-U12 and Sundays for U13 up at both home at Sachem Soccer Park and away in the local Suffolk area. Most Sachem Travel teams play in LIJSL. More skilled and competitive teams may play in EDP and play in Nassau and further in the tristate area. The format is 7 v 7 for U9 and U10 age groups, 9 v 9 for U11 and U12 age groups, and 11 v 11 for all age groups U13 and up. U9 through U12 games last about an hour and U13 and older games last about an hour and a half.
UNIFORMS
Competitive Travel Uniforms consist of Black, Gold, Pink (for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October), and Red practice jersey, black shorts, black and pink socks. Additional items are optional.
Recreational Travel Uniforms consist of Black and Gold jersey, black shorts, and black socks. Additional items are optional.
All players in Competitive and Recreational Travel must have different numbers. Check with the Team Administrator before ordering. Uniforms can be ordered at:

TRYOUTS
Tryouts occur the first week of June for players interested in Competitive Travel. There are no tryouts for Recreational Travel. There is no cost for tryouts. ALL players must register for tryouts so we can follow training protocols and properly staff tryouts. Returning players must register for tryouts as well. Tryouts are to inform the parents of the purpose and progression of the program.
REGISTRATION
After tryouts, all players in BOTH COMPETITIVE AND RECREATIONAL TRAVEL, must register by JULY 10. If you do not register, your child may not be playing soccer in the Fall. Registration will only be opened up after that IF there are openings.
COST
Competitive Travel
$1925 before June 30 if paid all at once.
$1975 before June 30 if paid in installments
After June 30, $2000 if paid all at once or installments.
Competitive Travel includes a professional trainer for games, practice twice a week, goalie training, four tournaments, and runs August to June.
Recreational Travel
$390 before June 30.
After June 30, $425.
Recreational Travel only includes games and practices run by a parent volunteer and runs September to November and late March to June.
Late Registrations will need to contact the Travel Trustee on availability of roster openings.
